Graphic artist and photographer by profession, Tam began his career in the arts as an illustrator and graphic artist for glossy magazines – in particular, Mabuhay Magazine, the in-flight publication of Philippine Airlines. He then moved on to work abroad as art and layout director of “The Saipan Tribune” – the top-selling newspaper in the Northern Mariana Islands. Tam has traveled all over the Philippines to hone his skill in photography, and has exhibited some of his photographs, in particular those of Laguna, at the Laguna Expo 2001 held at the Alabang Town Center and at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati. He also exhibited some of his photographs of flowers at the Market! Market! Activity Center, during their celebration of Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival in February this year. Since joining the art group Sining, Kulay at Tinta (SIKAT) in 2002, Tam has earnestly embraced his long-time hobby, experimenting with different mediums and painting styles. In painting, he has found creative fulfillment in the intuitive strokes of impressionism and the unfettered freedom of abstractionism. From 2002, he has participated in group exhibits in various locations in Metro Manila.
